"Estate al Sole"
In Milan the Head Office of the Group 24 Ore located in Via Monte Rosa is open to the public from the 11th of June to the 11th of July thanks to the initiative "Estate al Sole", a manifestation tied to the 2010 Soccer World Cup held in South Africa. In this prestigious establishment designed by Renzo Piano the following events have been organized; over 64 projections of the soccer matches, shows, seminars, fashion shows, concerts and other events with deal with themes of multiethnicity and internationality. In this setting of intercultural exchange we could not have found a better event that could host the sculptures from the exhibition "Scampini+Ndebele. Where Shape and Coulors come together", works in which the Artist from Varese and the South African Artists from the Ndebele tribe gave life as well as opened the lines of communication between Western abstract plasticity and the symbolic decorations of tribal African Art. The invitation to expose these creations made its way to Pietro Scampini from the Console General of South Africa, who knew about his works. From the main entrance of the building designed by Renzo Piano the impact with the sculptures is already felt, the large lobby with its floors coloured in neutral tones of grey make the three-dimensional various shaped designs stand out. This game is felt continuously on the various floors where the geometrical precision of the materials used for the interiors is compared with the patterns of architectural designs which surround the sculptures placed in the centre. Other sculptures have been placed in various area's which allow one to emjoy them in full tranquillity.
