Scampini's Enigmi tackle new themes though they share characteristics with his previous works. And so we come to the sculptor's "embryos" that bear witness to a plastic ideal with a propensity for metamorphosis. These living forms await an evolution but, in the meantime, their existences are suspended. Only the event itself will transform this potentially vital, but still inactive, form into a presence that will become an enigma as soon as it becomes part of the world.
